Reuse

Craig's List:  Offers free ads for new and used items that you want to sell or donate or that you want to purchase.  Ads are posted daily and you never know what you'll find.  This is a terrific way to help reuse items that still have some life left!
Freecycle:  A free exchange service that connects people in our area who have an item that they want to give away for free with people who are looking for that type of item.  (You will need to create an account before you can use Freecycle.)

  • American Forest and Paper Association (AF&PA) is the national trade association for the forest, paper and wood products industry. Find information here about paper use and recycling and sustainable forestry. AF&PA also offers fact sheets, flyers and posters on recycling and reuse and information on how to make your own recycled paper.
  • Environmental Literacy Council gives teachers the tools to help their students develop environmental literacy and the analytical skills needed to weigh scientific evidence and policy choices. Find lessons here on the economics of recycling, waste management and landfills.
  • Keep America Beautiful works with businesses, schools, neighborhood groups and local governments to develop programs that result in success stories for American volunteerism and provide classic classroom curricula and initiatives that net measurable results in community improvement, recycling and beautification.
  • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Solid Waste (OSW) provides a wealth of materials for teachers, students and researchers to develop an increased knowledge of solid waste.
  • Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) is the leading technical association for the worldwide pulp, paper and converting industry. TAPPI publishes a variety of educational materials which offer students insight into the history, manufacture, and science of paper. The "All about Paper" section has interesting facts about paper, recycling and the environment.
