What is Green Waste?Green waste consists of yard trimmings, grass clippings and/or small branches pruned from trees. Green waste disposal can be difficult for citizens living within incorporated municipalities. Citizens who live in rural areas may be able to compost or burn green waste (A burn permit is required; contact the County's Central Communication department at (479) 271-1005 for information.) Citizens within municipalities often must dispose of this material through composting centers, transfer stations or landfills. Green Waste Drop-off ProgramsThe District operates a Green Waste Drop-off program at our facility in Centerton. A fee of $8.00 per cubic yard (3' X 3' X 3' cube) of material is charged. Drop-offs are accepted Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The District can accept the following items:
Only materials indicated above will be accepted through the Green Waste Program. This material is transported to Tontitown to the landfill where it is used as cover for the landfill. The Drop-off program is most often utilized by lawn care providers. Citizens of BentonvilleThe City of Bentonville offers a green waste curb-side collection program as well as a green waste drop-off program for citizens of Bentonville ONLY.
